Shrimp Stuffed Turbot…

“Shrimp Stuffed Turbot” is a dish that I created many years ago.  It is Japanese influenced and are small bite size pieces of turbot fish wrapped around whole shrimp.

The turbot fish filet is sliced into very thin, 1″ wide by 3-4″ long strips and wrapped around whole marinated shrimp.  Afterwards, it’s seasoned with paprika, salt and pepper and then roasted in the oven.  After it’s been cooked, it’s lightly drizzled with unagi “eel” sauce and lightly sprinkled with furikake which is a mix of roasted seaweed, sesame seeds, dried and ground fish as well as salt and pepper.  Furikake is a Japanese dry condiment that’s typically used to sprinkle over white rice to add flavor to rice.  Here, it’s used as a finishing seasoning mix.
