As I sit here listening to a NYPD police scanner feed set to ambient new age music, somehow surprisingly, it’s quite beautiful, yet something feels quite wrong. Maybe it’s the juxtaposition of the tranquil music set against the turbulent drama of the scanner feed, who knows? One thing’s for sure, there’s no denying that it IS interesting.
If New York is not your thing, you can also listen to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago or the Montreal police scanner feed set to various ambient music. Oh by the way, Montreal’s police feed is the least active of the five. As for the busiest scanner feed, you be the judge.
